Hi friends. Sorry this is so long overdue.

It’s a pretty classic story: I turned 30, got a full time job (thankfully doing what I love), moved to upstate New York, started studying jazz guitar, blah blah blah.

Ramp Local will continue to evolve after a well needed gestation period. In the meantime, everything is on Bandcamp and those big bad steaming services.

Today we announce the new album by Tomato Flower’s Jamison Field Murphy: ‘It Has to End’, out 10/11/24 on digital and cassette. Pre-order on bandcamp and stream the first single “Field” wherever you feed your ears (all contained in the bio link).

As one fourth of Tomato Flower and a solo artist, Jamison’s songs draw from the warped edges of singer-songwriter music and psych pop. His new album is a slice from a lifetime of home recording practice where Murphy collages a vast, decade-long archive of tape-recorded pop songs.

Jamison is carrying the torch for a long line of lo fi prolifics. If you’re seeking more nuggets ala Chris Weisman, Syd Barrett and Daniel Johnston— this one is for you.
