The Tribeca Film Festival kicks off next week, and we’re excited to have two projects we worked on premiering there: "Full Circle: The First All Black Everest Ascent" and "ChikaBOOM!"

Our latest adventure with our longtime client, Relative Scale and their partners 1220 Exhibits, HealyKohler Design, and Available Light, took us to Fort Campbell, KY to work on a very special exhibit for the Tennessee Wings of Liberty Museum, which opened to the public last week. The museum’s signature exhibit features an immersive flight experience aboard an MH-47 Chinook helicopter.

To ensure authenticity, we spent time last fall on the Fort Campbell tarmac recording the actual interior and exterior sounds of a Chinook in flight. We weren’t allowed to actually fly, but our equipment did while we stayed on the ground recording as the pilot put the helicopter through its paces.

Rather than using actors, we had actual pilots and crew from Fort Campbell record their voices for a truly authentic experience. For the sound installation, we returned to the museum earlier this year to perform the final mix on location, inside the exhibit itself, helping ensure the experience felt as real and immersive as possible.

Spring is here, and that means a few things here in North Carolina: warmer temperatures, lots of pollen, and March Madness! We're happy to make our contribution to this year by collaborating with the teams at Rock'n Robin Productions, Trilogy Films, and ABC News Studios on Breaking Glass: The Pat Summitt Story. The film premiers in the midst of March Madness on Hulu on Wednesday, March 25. Trailblazer worked directly with director Dawn Porter and her team at Trilogy Films, handling post supervision, media management, remote machines, color, online, and audio post.

Our own (truly amazing) Executive Producer Ashley Hill Faison will walk through the post-production process in a clear, approachable way, covering what filmmakers and producers should know whether they’re tackling post for the first time or have been doing this for years. It’s designed to be useful, practical, and full of real-world insight.
