The most LEGENDARY Camp Digital shoot. 🎞️
We recently traveled to Worcester, MA, with PF Flyers to interview “The Houdini of the Hardwood” at his home, celebrating his 96th birthday and the re-release of his signature shoe.
Bob Cousy, aka “The Cooz,” is not just a basketball icon—he’s a pioneer. The first player inducted into The Basketball Hall of Fame, a six-time NBA Champion with the Boston Celtics, the driving force behind the first players’ union to secure pensions and health benefits, the founder of the National Basketball Players Association, and a Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient. Trailblazer, teammate, dad, hero.
In 1958, Bob Cousy made history by signing the NBA’s first-ever shoe endorsement with P.F. Flyers. His signature shoe has been a timeless staple ever since. What started as a spark of an idea became reality, and this week, the interview and photos even made a splash on Sports Illustrated.
The highlight of the day? Experiencing Bob’s legendary “razzle-dazzle” personality firsthand. He’s a man with a mind and heart of his own, deeply aware of the weight and responsibility of his legacy. Throughout the interview, he shared his favorite life mantra: “Do your best when no one is looking.” A true great of the game, on and off the court.
Shoutout to the dream team who made it happen: Kassia Davis, Lisa Bagaco-Lewis, Caitlin Kaseumsouk (Bendiak), Shelby Spencer, Tucker Horan, and The Cousy Family
