My “no makeup makeup” look that makes my skin look glowy when filming but not overly done up!

The key is letting things set and not immediately powdering your face after using liquid products.

I also let my skin care “soak in” for at least 5-10 minutes before starting my makeup.

I can’t even count how many times a client says something feels “fine”

Meanwhile they are wincing

Their scalp is turning red

It’s not that they don’t want to be honest -

I think we are just programmed to deal with and expect pain.

So instead of just asking my clients I like to observe their body language.

Shivering?

I’m grabbing you a heated blanket.

Squinting while I’m applying a bead?

Im going to be direct and ask what’s hurting.

Touching their head repeatedly after placing a bond?

I’m going to ask them to point where it’s uncomfortable.

Pulling away from me when blow drying?

I’m going to say sorry and ask if it’s the heat or the tension that’s bothering them.

When you learn to pay attention to small cues like that your work gets so much better and you’re clients are comfier and happier.
