🚨 Fire reported in Cary this afternoon near the US-1 ramp at Tryon Road.

Witnesses say the flames were intense, with smoke visible in the area before crews quickly moved in.

👏 Huge shoutout to Cary Fire Department for the rapid response and getting it contained fast.

NASCAR legend Greg Biffle is being remembered not only for his racing career, but for his heroic relief efforts during Hurricane Helene. When floods and landslides cut off communities, Biffle repeatedly flew his helicopter into Western North Carolina, delivering supplies and checking on families no one else could reach.

He later brought in Cleetus McFarland, helping launch a larger airlift effort that drew helicopters and volunteers from across the country — an operation credited with saving lives.

While the world knew Greg Biffle as a champion driver, Western NC will remember him as a hero who showed up when it mattered most. 🖤

🚨 UPDATE — CONCORD TREE LIGHTING SHOOTING 🚨

Police now say Friday’s shooting at Concord’s Tree Lighting Ceremony was not random and involved individuals who knew each other. Three suspects have been identified:

• Nasir Ahmad Bostic, 18, of Concord — one of the gunshot victims — remains in critical condition. Warrants have been issued for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and inciting a riot.
• A second suspected shooter, a juvenile, is also in critical condition. Petitions have been filed for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, discharging into an occupied property, and inciting a riot.
• Keyvyonn Rayshaund Bostic, 17, of Concord — not injured — was taken into custody and charged as an adult with accessory after the fact and inciting a riot.

Two additional 17-year-olds were injured; one has been released, the other is still critical.

Police say all involved parties are accounted for. More details to come.

🚨 BREAKING — CONCORD, NC 🚨
Shots fired at the annual Christmas tree lighting.

The event on Church St. and Cabarrus Ave. was halted around 7:30 p.m. as police responded and cleared the area. Drivers are advised to avoid downtown.
