Missed the show? Here are 2 simple ways to turn art into everyday liberation based on Paulo Freire 👇🏾

🎨 Community Mural Freire-style

Turn a blank wall into a neighborhood classroom:

1. Jot real local themes on sticky notes → cluster → sketch simple scenes that end in a question.
2. Paint it (paper panels or a permitted wall), add blank bubbles + a QR for replies.
3. Host a quick “sidewalk chat,” collect answers, then add new panels from feedback.

Not slogans—problem-posing art that sparks dialogue → action.

Missed the show? Here are 2 simple ways to turn art into everyday liberation based on Paulo Freire 👇🏾

1. Kitchen Actos (mini home theatre)

✨ Grab 2–3 people.
✨ Pick a real-life tension (rent hike, bus routes, school lunch).
✨ Improv a 60-second skit that ends with a question (not a slogan).
✨ Record on your phone, share, and ask viewers: “What would you do next?”
➡️ Goal: spark dialogue + ideas you can act on together.

3. Pocket Posters (DIY printmaking)

✨ Carve a potato/eraser with one word you want more of (e.g., “dignidad,” “access”).
✨ Stamp it on paper or recycled bags; add a short link/QR to a community survey.
✨ Post where it's allowed (bulletin boards, shop windows, community fridges).
✨ Invite folks to comment or vote; post results and a next step.
➡️ Goal: turn walls into conversation starters.

Tag us if you try it!

🎨🎭 Thank You from Heart of the Arts! 🎨🎭
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who tuned in to Heart of the Arts yesterday for our introduction to the month of Black August! Your presence, energy, and commitment to the liberation of Black artistry made it an unforgettable hour of powerful storytelling and celebration.

A special and deeply rooted thank you goes to our brilliant guest, Ifasina Clear for gracing the studio with their insight, courage, and creative spirit. Ifasina’s words reminded us that artistry is more than craft—it’s a practice of survival, resistance, and love. From their reflections on healing through art to their unwavering commitment to justice and joy, they offered us a living example of what it means to create from the core of one’s values.

Your wisdom and presence, Ifasina, was a gift. We are honored to have shared space with you during Black August—a time when the legacy of resistance meets the fire of imagination.

To all our listeners: thank you for showing up, for building with us, and for continuing to walk with Heart of the Arts. We look forward to more dialogue, more creativity, and more collective liberation every Wednesday from 3–5 PM on Oak 93.5 FM!

With gratitude and revolutionary love,
