We are The Paranormal People

Hi everyone and welcome to our page! We’re The Paranormal People, a paranormal investigation group with team members based in Raleigh and Asheville, North Carolina. We travel to haunted places in and around the state to investigate the unknown and seek out the things we are unable to see or hear. Learn more about our investigators below and feel free to contact us if you’re interested in having us conduct an investigation at your location.

Jessica P. Jackson- Founder, Audio-tech, and Investigator

Jess started paranormal investigating when she was a college student at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. As the vice president of Wilmington Paranormal Research for three years, she was given the opportunity to investigate notoriously haunted locations such as the USS NC Battleship, the jail in Charleston, South Carolina, as well as the Bellamy Mansion in downtown Wilmington.

While at UNCW Jess was also a film student which gave her the chance to learn more about audio and sound techniques. She was the sound designer for the film “Feast Coast’ as well as the director, editor, and sound designer for the film “Modern Craft.” Because of her love for audio, she tends to focus more on things that are heard rather than seen during investigations. With this experience under her belt, Jess is excited to be diving back into the world of the paranormal and is looking forward to investigating once again.

Lauryn Green - Scared Sh**less Tech Wizard and Investigator

Lauryn is an American director, writer, professional film crew member, award-winning production designer, and award-winning editor. She graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Media and Broadcasting and a minor in English, concentrated in Creative Writing. Lauryn is a member in the award-winning film group, Artivational, where she has worked on several award-winning films. Lauryn has directed, written, edited, assisted in production, and designed sound for both feature films and short films. She is the founder of Outlandish Productions, which is best known for the feature film, “JED”.

For the community, she has worked with Parodies for Charities to raise money for several different charities throughout North Carolina. She's received press coverage on her feature LGBT Horror film, "JED", through ABC WLOS News 13 in Asheville, NC.

Lauryn has had paranormal experiences in the past and is both curious and scared sh**less of what evidence may appear through paranormal investigations, hence her title.

Elizabeth Cavanagh - Overly Enthusiastic Blonde Chick and Investigator

Elizabeth agreed to do this for the fun times and spooky encounters. She often laughs nervously when hearing strange sounds and will probably sh** her pants first out of everyone else in the group. Right now she is attending Meredith College and has always been interested in the scary stories that circulate her campus and the general Raleigh area.
