Photographer Fred Crissey captured several Midwestern Milwaukee Road lines in the 1970’s. First, we see trains on the line between Mason City and Marquette, Iowa. Then we travel along the Mississippi River from Savanna, Illinois and northward in Iowa. It is on this line that “F” units were charge of freights! Then, you will enjoy the action on two Wisconsin Branch Lines from 1978. An SD-9 works the Mineral Point to Janesville train and SD-10 number 555 is in charge of the Sparta to Viroqua train. Fred also followed the Milwaukee Road from Kansas City, Missouri to Ottumwa, Iowa just after the Soo Line purchased the Milwaukee in 1986.
