Where did “OK” come from? 🤔💬

Did you know that “OK” started as a joke in the 1830s?
Writers in Boston loved making funny abbreviations(with misspellings!), like “OW” for “oll wright” (all right) and “KG” for “know go” (no go).

So one day, someone wrote “OK” for “oll korrect” , a silly way to say “all correct.” 😂
The joke caught on, and later, during U.S. President Martin Van Buren’s 1840 campaign, people called him “Old Kinderhook” and his supporters formed the “OK Club.”

Soon everyone was saying it, and today “OK” is one of the most recognized words in the world! 🌍✨

❗️Note! This word is pronounced "oh- KAY" instead of more like "oak". Letter "O" letter "K"
This pronunciation difference is similar to other abbreviated or shortened words such as "vs" is actually pronounced "versus" instead of like "vee-ess. Or "etc" is pronounced "et-cet-era".

✅ Fun fact: “OK” is understood in over 100 languages.

Today, I'm making cabbage rolls. 🥬

🥬A "cabbage roll" is a dish made with cabbage leaves and a mixture of meat, rice, and spices. Some people make it without rice or with other filling, too, like mushrooms.
I make mine with rice, beef, and tomato.

🍽To make cabbage rolls, I have to boil the head of cabbage in water until it is soft enough to roll around the meat mixture.

❤️The small round center of the cabbage is called a "cabbage heart" and I also stuff this.

In the US (and Canada, the UK), cabbage rolls are commonly eaten in communities with Eastern European backgrounds.

There are also variations of cabbage rolls that are made in the Middle East and other countries.

Do you eat cabbage rolls in your country? What do you call them? And what is your method for making them?
