The Two Man Band

This recording was done with just one overdub. In the video you are watching I am singing, strumming rhythm guitar, and playing the drums with my feet. I then overdubbed myself doing a backing vocal harmony while playing lead uke.

I wanted to see how much sound could be achieved with a just duo on stage. It turns out quite a bit.

Been warming up the vocals this past week as I prep for recording vocal tracks on “Gulag”. This was a little exercise to warm up and get in the zone.

This song is not my own. It is a cover. Name that tune in the comments. I’ll give you a hint. The artist is tagged. They are one of my favorite song writers.

The lead guitar on “Gulag” is finally done! I will be working on the vocals and master this week. I hope to have the album done this week so I can start getting shows set up next week to promote! I am excited about this. I have not played a show in a minute. Much more to come. Stayed tuned! 🤠😎

Was listening to Joe Pass recently. Dude made the guitar sound like bass, rhythm guitar, and lead guitar at the same time! Fu***ng master. GOAT.

Working out a folk-style picking technique here. Not quite perfect yet. In progress. Trying to get that two guitar sound. 🧐😏😎

A Matter of Efficiency? Never. A Product of Quality.
Yeah that’s right. 👌🏽😏😎

It’s funny I had set aside the time to record lead guitar on the album. I was all ready to go when I suddenly had the notion to just play and not record anything.

As I played I realized I just wasn’t quite there yet. I still need just a bit more warming up. I admit I am a bit rusty these days and am dusting off the cobwebs. I am treating this like I’m a recovering athlete in training. I want to put the best performance I can on the record. I take lead guitar very seriously. I f**k around on the posts but recording is different. 💪

Although this delays efficiency I make the argument that I would rather take the time and put in the extra effort to produce a product of high quality. There is plenty of garbage out there. I don’t want to add to it.

However I do have designs in motion to get an efficient system of process in line for the Underhowl universe. I’ve been working in the position of Sales Technician recently. Along with hands on technical work with inventory/logistics I have to think strategically about how to generate leads and close sales to help this company I work for expand their market.

I am paralleling this new training and work with the needed expansion for Underhowl. The future looks bright. I’ve been getting some solid ideas.

Lull B4 the Storm

Finally gonna lay down those leads on the “Gulag” Ep. I was suppose to finish them up last week but I actually got so busy warming up I didn’t record anything. That’s ok. 😏

I now plan to lay down lead guitar today, vocals this weekend, and master next week! If all goes well “Gulag” will be released in the next couple weeks! This will be my first release in years.

I want to remember this as the moment before “Gulag” came out. A lull before the storm. I’m gonna hit this promo work heavy into next year. I have a good feeling about this. 😎
