Solorio Elementary had a special moment in Mrs. McNabb’s second grade class this week. As the “Star of the Week,” student Lia invited family friend Ricardo Sandoval to speak to her classmates. Ricardo, a professional boxer from Rialto and the current WBC and WBA Flyweight World Champion, is signed with Golden Boy Promotions.

He spoke with students about hard work, dedication, and the countries he has visited through boxing, including Mexico, Russia, the UK, and Japan. He also shared that he is a proud college graduate from Cal State San Bernardino, reminding students that education is key no matter where their goals lead them.

The class loved the presentation, and Lia’s family is sending a big high five to both Lia and Ricardo for bringing such an inspiring experience to her classmates.
