The Times (of London) reported that the International Olympic Committee working group on the “protection of the women’s category” is moving toward a transgender ban, possibly in early 2026. World Aquatics to allow Russians, Belarusians to take part as “neutrals” in all disciplines, including water polo as of January 2026. That appears to mean “neutral” teams as well, allowing Russian (“Neutral B”) and Belarus (“Neutral A”) back into tournaments for the first time since February 2022.
