The older I get, the more I realize money isn’t the only thing we’re chasing.

We’re chasing time.

Time to pick our kids up without rushing.
Time to sit down for dinner together.
Time to hear about their day instead of saying, “Mommy’s busy.”

I know I wasn’t the only one. 😂

The second that school bus dropped us off, it was a race to the computer.

Bookbag still on.
Mama yelling, “Don’t get on that computer until you do your homework!”

Meanwhile, we were on MySpace for HOURS.

Changing our layouts.
Finding the perfect background.
Learning HTML codes we didn’t even understood.
Arguing over who made the Top 8.
Picking the perfect profile song.
Refreshing the page a hundred times to make sure everything looked right.

Back then, we thought we were just having fun.

Looking back tho… it’s actually kind of crazy beecause those same girls who were obsessed with making their page stand out were learning skills people get paid for every single day now.

Nobody told us that creativity had value or that understanding attention was a skill.

Nobody told us that one day businesses would pay people to build brands, create content, design pages and digital products, and grow communities online.

We weren’t wasting time. We were practicing.

And that’s exactly why I believe so many women are way more qualified to build income online than they give themselves credit for.
