In observance of Memorial Day, Aberdeen will begin an extended weekend at 3 PM PDT today, May 22. Our offices will be closed through Monday, May 25, and we’ll resume normal hours on Tuesday, May 26.

Emergency staff will be available to support client needs throughout the weekend, and all scheduled live captioning events will continue as planned.

We honor and remember those who gave their lives in service to our country. Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day weekend.

Today marks the 15th Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD).

GAAD exists to raise awareness around digital accessibility and to encourage more inclusive technology, media, and communication for everyone.

At Aberdeen Broadcast Services, accessibility is at the center of what we do every day through captioning, every translation, and media accessibility solutions for live and recorded content.

Today is a reminder that accessibility is not just a feature; it’s an opportunity to make communication more inclusive for every audience.

That is why we are excited to be part of the Church AI Roadmap Summit, where ministry leaders will come together to navigate what this shift means for the church.

We’re headed to NAB Show 2026 in Las Vegas, April 18–22.

This year, Aberdeen Broadcast Services will be exhibiting alongside our partners at Link Electronics in the West Hall (Booth W2910), showcasing our integration of AI-powered ASR captioning directly on their encoders.

Using your existing workflow, audio is sent from the encoder to our ASR engine and returned as real-time caption data—just like working with a human captioner.

Now with automated Spanish captions on CC3. Deliver English captions on CC1 and Spanish captions on CC3 simultaneously—powered by ASR and AI, over the same IP connection.

You may be hearing about the ADA Title II 2026 update, but it’s not something new.

These rules have been in place for years. What’s changed is that they’re now clearly defined.

Public entities now have:
• A clear accessibility standard (WCAG 2.1 AA)
• Set timelines (2026 and 2027)
• Clear guidance on what’s covered (websites, apps, and more)

One thing to note: smaller cities and organizations under 50,000 now have a firm 2027 deadline.
