On September 24,2024, 13 year old Stefanie Damron of New Sweden was reported missing by her family. Stefanie is described as 5'0, 130 lbs, green eyes, and shoulder-length brown hair. Stefanie was last seen wearing blue jeans, a long sleeve blue shirt, and black Harley Davidson hiking boots. Anyone with any information about Stefanie’s whereabouts is encouraged to call the Maine State Police Houlton Barracks at 1 (800) 924-2261 or (207) 532-5400.

Get ready for Oquossoc Day - Saturday, August 17th! This year's theme is Wild Western Maine, promising a fun day for everyone. The event starts at 10 AM in downtown Oquossoc. It includes an Arts, Crafts & Antiques Show, live music, a water ski show by the Maine Attraction Water Ski Show Team, a spectacular decorated boat parade, children's activities, and more. We’re returning to our roots and bringing back the Oquossoc Day community party. Join us for a good time with light bites, a cash bar, and a deejay on Friday evening, August 16, from 5-7 p.m., under the tent at Bald Mountain Camps. Decorate your boat - "Wild Western Maine" is the theme - and join the Oquossoc Day Boat Parade at Oquossoc Cove. Boats should gather in the south cove near Indian Point at 12:30 p.m. The parade will begin at 1 p.m., moving counterclockwise in front of the marina. Trophies will be given to the winners. There's no entry fee; please message us with your name and type of boat so we can anticipate the number of participants and notify our announcer.
