Celtic Nature Studio offers carving classes for individuals and small groups. This season artists are learning the fundamentals of hand carving while making a traditional Greenman sculpture.

Picked up some interesting supplies recently at a stone show. The swirls in the malachite reminded me of the stones outside the passage tomb at Knowth. We also grabbed a string of serpentine beads, and some raw amethyst. Serpentine deposits are what give Conamara Marble it's beautiful distinctive color. And Amethyst was used in various jewelry designs by the early celts and romans. It can be collected along the southern beaches of Ireland near Di**le and Keem.
The Guinness was delicious!
