I feel that I owe an immense homage to the wedding media industry as I wrap up conversations with my final wedding video clients. What started as a curiosity to see if I might be able to make something more than shaky snowboarding videos with my friends ended up being a blueprint to my identity. I filmed my first wedding video (shoutout Nicole and Terry) in the summer of 2018 on a GoPro Hero 6 and the family Canon 60D. What little I asked for in payment that first video went against every fiber of my being (broke college student) but I had a feeling the experience was more important. Fast forward a couple years and I had set aside some money to buy a professional grade video editing program, Canon 80D, and a second camera lens. Those next 3 wedding videos managed to put my name on the radar because I somehow found myself in Georgia filming a wedding for a gal (shoutout Marci) I had met in Boston at a pharmacy conference. 5 wedding videos. At that point, I knew I was cookin with campfire. Fast forward 24 more wedding videos, 5 cameras, even more lenses, gimbal stabilizers, mics, drones, tripods, you name it, and literally thousands of hours learning to edit (completely self taught), I found myself fulfilled and unexpectedly working with two careers. As I lean on the pharmacy side of things for the time being, I have many to thank from the last 8 years. To every client, friend, vendor, parent, wedding party, photographer, my lovely wife, my family, coworkers, and the random guy in Red Lodge who lent me a lens filter 2 hours before a wedding (Coleman Gallery & Studio), I hope since I last saw you that you have been able to experience that same excitement I witnessed from behind my camera all those years ago. Thanks to you I saw some cool stuff, weird stuff, and the stuff you can’t really bring words to… Joy? Fulfillment? Gratitude? Stay in touch is all I ask in return.
And finally I couldn’t be happier ending this journey on your wedding Holly and Josh. Thanks for believing in me and congratulations! 🙌
