On the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the United States Marine Corps, the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of Detectives Francisco Roman Jr., (Staff Sergeant – USMC 1989 to 1999), hosted a ceremonial cake cutting. Somerset County Commissioner Director Shanel Robinson, along with the current oldest Marine, Sergeant Louis D. Amodio, age 96, and the youngest Marine, Manville Police Officer Kieran Green, age 27, served as the Guests of Honor. Law Enforcement personnel from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, Somerset County Sheriff’s Office, Manville Police Department, Branchburg Police Department, Somerville Police Department, and Franklin Township Police Departments who served as United States Marines were in attendance. The ceremony included our Somerset County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard along with a bagpiper from the Somerset County Police Pipes and Drums. As customary, the United States Marines Corps Birthday message from the Commandant was read during the event followed by the traditional cake cutting ceremony. We salute all of the Marines who served our nation and wish the USMC a Happy 250th Birthday! Semper Fi
