Titans blank Ravens 22-0 in gridiron opener

MENLO – Pe Ell-Willapa Valley opened the 2026 football season with a 22-0 shutout victory over arch rival Raymond-South Bend before a packed house on a perfect night for football at Crogstad Field in Menlo Friday. The Ravens turned the ball over six times on fumbles to the Titans. Willapa Valley HS senior Lucas Lusk recovered 3 fumbles and Kashton Ruddell had 2.

New mural tells Pacific County’s story

A new mural now covers the side of the Pacific County Historical Society building in South Bend, transforming the space between the museum’s elk and oyster murals into a vintage postcard‑style welcome. Museum President Steve Rogers and Denise Rogers first imagined the concept, hoping to create something that would greet visitors while celebrating the county’s heritage. Executive Director Christine Balcom said the idea quickly grew into a chance to tell a deeper story. “We wanted it to be more than an attractive welcome sign; it was an opportunity to tell some of Pacific County’s story using photographs preserved in the Historical Society’s own collection.”

Pacific County Public Hospital District 2, d/b/a Willapa Harbor Hospital (the “DISTRICT”), announces the establishment of a Small Works Roster pursuant to RCW 70.44.140 and RCW 39.04.155 to award public works contracts for general contractor; mechanical/plumbing contractor; electrical contractor, carpet and resilient flooring contractor, and hazardous material abatement contractor on projects with a value of between Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000) and Three Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($350,000).

All qualified, licensed and bonded contractors wishing to be included on this roster, should respond to Paul Staats Facility Manager, at Willapa Harbor Hospital, email [email protected].
