Our annual Belmont Christmas Parade has been postponed to Tuesday, December 2 at 6 PM.

We will continue accepting parade participants until Monday at 5 PM. If you didn’t get a chance to register and would still like to join the lineup, please use the link below:

The 6 p.m. precipitation forecast just isn’t looking conducive for a parade today. The city expects to make a decision by 3:30 p.m.

In case of rain Monday evening, Red Bay’s annual Christmas parade will be held Saturday, Dec. 6, at 6 p.m. Belmont’s parade has already been rescheduled to Tuesday at 6 p.m. due to rain yesterday. Vina’s parade is also set for Tuesday at 6 p.m.

And now the official word from ALDOT at 4:13 p.m., Highway 247 is officially reopened to traffic.

Photo from RBN reader Jana Boyd: Guard rails are going in on the bridge on Hwy. 247. From what The Red Bay News was told a few weeks ago, this is one of the last steps before the bridge and highway reopen, so we expect that to happen any day now. We’re reaching out to ALDOT for more information.
