Simone Senogles Fund Opportunity – $1,500 Award for each category.

The mother of Simone Senogles shared the following funding opportunity during the Red Lake Council Meeting on June 9, 2026. She would like this information distributed to anyone who may be interested. To apply, submit a brief paragraph describing your background, interests, and connections to the areas listed.

1. 2026 Graduate of Red Lake Nation College who will be continuing education at Bemidji State University
2. Grassroots community work: Traditional Food Systems, Indigenous Women, and Environmental and/or Climate Justice
3. Revitalizing and preserving traditional arts.

The Northwest Minnesota Foundation is now accepting grant applications from small businesses and nonprofits to invest in existing operations or planned growth. Businesses and nonprofits can use funds for working capital to support payroll expenses, rent or mortgage payments, utility bills, equipment, and other similar expenses that occur in the regular course of business.

Applications will be accepted through January 30th, 2026. Full grant guidelines and the grant application are available on their website.

Fiber art is thriving in Minnesota, and the field’s recognition as a vital creative discipline is generously supported by the McKnight Foundation’s Arts & Culture program.

This program awards two unrestricted $25,000 fellowships to post-emerging Minnesota fiber artists who demonstrate exceptional proficiency, sustained practice, and commitment to the field.

Fellowship dates: March 1, 2026 - February 28, 2027
Application deadline: December 8, 2025 at 5 pm CT
