This course provides students with a basic knowledge of the emergency service requirements related to the roles and responsibilities of a Chief Fire Officer including developing a plan for the integration of fire services resources, developing an agency resource contingency plan, evaluating incident facilities, supervising multiple resources, developing and utilizing an incident action plan, obtaining incident information to facilitate transfer of command, developing and conducting a post-incident analysis, and maintaining incident records.

We’re opening our Museum early on Saturday, October 18, from 9–10am for a relaxed, low-stimulation experience designed for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders and/or sensory sensitivities and their families.

During Sensory Hour, lights are dimmed, sounds are minimal, and guests are encouraged to explore the Museum at their own pace. Our staff and volunteers will be on hand to help, and quiet spaces will be available if needed. Families are welcome to stay and enjoy the rest of the Park after the event.

Please join us in recognizing Correctional Lieutenant Dale Marlar as he closes one door and opens another to a well-deserved retirement.
For more than 22 years Lt. Marlar has served the citizens of Shasta County, excelling in his primary duties but also in numerous collateral assignments and community endeavors.
Throughout his career, Lt. Marlar served as Custody Emergency Response Team (CERT) leader, Jail Classification, Corrections Academy Instructor, Jail Training Officer, and Background Investigator. In addition to these critical roles inside the jail, Lt. Marlar also dedicated 7 years as a member of Shasta County’s Mental Health, Alcohol and Drug Advisory Board, where his unique insight helped advance community well-being.
Lt. Marlar, your legacy of service will be remembered for years to come, and your impact will continue to be felt through the many officers whose careers you shaped. May you enjoy your next chapter and good luck in whatever personal projects you choose to pursue.
