Choosing a paint color or decor palette isn’t just about style; it’s about how you want your space to feel. Colors hold powerful psychological effects, shaping everything from energy levels to relaxation and even creativity. Here’s a deeper look:

Red – Bold and energizing, perfect for dining rooms or social spaces where conversation flows.
Orange – Warm and inviting, great for creating a lively, playful atmosphere.
Yellow – Bright and optimistic, often used in kitchens or home offices to spark creativity.
Green – Balancing and refreshing, brings the outdoors in for a sense of harmony.
Blue – Calm and tranquil, ideal for bedrooms or bathrooms where relaxation is key.
Purple – Luxurious and creative, great for adding a sense of drama or elegance.
White – Clean and minimal, a timeless choice that makes small spaces feel open.
Gray – Calming and neutral, versatile enough to pair with any accent color for a serene, grounded space.
Brown – Cozy and earthy, perfect for creating comfort and warmth in living areas.

🗝 The key is not just picking a color you love, but aligning it with the mood you want to create in that room. Whether you’re craving energy, peace, or balance — color sets the stage for your everyday life.

When it comes to your dream getaway space, which style makes your heart skip a beat?

Beach House — Light, airy, and coastal vibes with driftwood textures, soft whites, and ocean-inspired accents.

Lake House — Warm, rustic, and cozy with soaring wood beams, stone fireplaces, and breathtaking water views.

Both bring comfort and relaxation in their own unique way… so, which one feels more like home to you?

☕️ A fresh take on the coffee(tea) bar
Who says mugs have to live in a cabinet? Storing them in a drawer makes them easy to reach, while also freeing up valuable shelf space above, and keeps your countertop clear. Pairing mugs with teas, pods, spoons, and other accessories in one spot creates a clean, self-contained coffee (or tea!) station that feels intentional and clutter-free.

Sometimes it’s the little styling touches that make the biggest difference. Adding a few low-light plants instantly softens a bathroom, making it feel more relaxed and inviting.

These 9 bathroom-friendly plants love humidity: Snake Plant, ZZ Plant, Pothos, Spider Plant, Peace Lily, Ferns, Cast Iron Plant, Chinese Evergreen, and Philodendron.

Styling inspo: Pop a trailing plant on a shelf, place a leafy green by the sink, or group a few together for a cozy spa-like moment.

It’s an easy way to turn everyday routines into something a little more refreshing.

Our homes are more than just a place to live; they're a reflection of our inner world. As the principles of Feng Shui teach us, the energy in our homes directly impacts the energy in our lives.

One of the most powerful things you can do to invite positive change is to remove clutter. It's a simple act with profound effects. That's because old belongings, especially broken items, can carry stagnant or "stuck" energy. By releasing what no longer serves you, you create space for new opportunities and positive vibes to flow in.

Think of it as decluttering your home, mind, and spirit, all at once!

Throwback to the 1960s! 🕰️ I recently came across this incredible decorating book I originally got as a prop for the 50th-anniversary party my siblings and I hosted for our parents several years ago. Our parents got married in 1967, so I transformed my sister's Eichler home( couldn't have asked for a better venue) into a 60s throwback, complete with decor, dishes, wall clocks, calendars, and magazines from the era. Every detail I could find. I even got a bunch of ashtrays and filled them with black and white sugar as ash, and made ci******es out of pretzel sticks and colored chocolate. It was quite a hit!

What's amazing is how relevant the advice still is. The very first chapter talks about creating a home that’s a true reflection of your personality, a core belief of mine and a message I share with every client. It just goes to show that good design advice never goes out of style.

This is the initial concept for a client's master bedroom, and I love how the fabric palette came together. My goal was to create a serene, luxurious yet slightly feminine sanctuary, and the plan centered on this deep, midnight-blue velvet to re-upholster their chaise lounge. Which was adorned with a custom throw pillow in the beautiful fuchsia and navy damask fabric.

For the rest of the room, I focused on a collection of custom pillows to accent the client's existing comforter as well as complementary stationary side panels for the sliding door. I layered in vibrant pops of raspberry and fuchsia, playing with the contrast between a bold geometric print and a more intricate damask patterns. The final detail that tied it all together was this chic Greek Key trim in navy and white, which provided a tailored detail to an impressive 40" bulster in the solid raspberry linen for the bed. This selection of textiles formed the perfect foundation for a space that felt both timeless and uniquely personal.

Interior styling is never just about “decorating,” it’s about storytelling.

David Hicks said it best: “The best rooms have something to say about the people who live in them.”

Every styling choice, from the texture of a throw blanket to the placement of a vase, speaks volumes. The magic happens when layers of color, pattern, and personality come together to create a space that feels alive and deeply personal.

A well-styled room doesn’t just look good, it communicates who you are.

If your home could speak, what would it say about you?

🧘🏻‍♀️Happy National Relaxation Day! What makes the home more relaxing than soothing oils diffusing into the air?

Today is the perfect excuse to slow down, take a deep breath, and create your own personal sanctuary. I love how a stylish diffuser can seamlessly blend into your home decor, serving as both a beautiful accent piece and a powerful tool for wellness.

Aromatherapy is more than just a scent; it's a whole mood. Let the calming aroma of your favorite essential oils wash away the stress of the day.

How are you relaxing and unwinding today?

August Vibes... the perfect bridge between summer and fall.

August and September can be tricky months for decorating. It’s still summer, yet stores are already tempting us with pumpkins, fall leaves, and cozy throws. The urge for sweater weather is real! Instead of rushing straight into autumn, try sunflowers in your decor. I know some of you think sunflowers will make a space feel too "country," but they don't have to... Pair them with rich textures, jewel-toned accents, and clean-lined furniture for a look that feels vibrant and inviting now and transitions beautifully into fall.

The first time I walked into this client's home, I was totally floored.

And not by the floors (which were gorgeous too), but by this ceiling. 😍
The arched entryway, the brick laid in a herringbone pattern, the soft uplighting that highlights every textural detail… It’s the kind of craftsmanship that takes your breath away.

As an interior stylist, I always look for the little things that make a space feel layered, intentional, and unforgettable. This entryway sets the tone for the entire home.

Design tip? Your entry makes the first impression. Thoughtful ceiling details, lighting, and texture can elevate even the simplest space.
