You have an obligation to not be finessing people. If you can't make a couple bucks as a reseller without tricking people or ripping them off you probably shouldn't be doing this at all. Sorry not sorry for the hot take.

What does the social contract look like amongst collectors? Is there honor amongst thieves? I think a lot of the outrage we see online comes from perceived violations of an implicitly understood social contract amongst collectors. Everyone can feel that it exists, but it's difficult to articulate what it entails. This is my attempt to explain the social contract for collectors. What would you add or remove to the social contract?

My thoughts:

I love art and I love helping people see the value of their creations, so when I get an opportunity to buy genuinely good art from a young artist I'm always going to jump on that opportunity. I got so caught up in his art that I missed the birthday hat and badge! Happy belated birthday, Victor, and thank you for your art!

I don't think I've ever said no to buying a gold star. If I have said no it's because I'm broke and that's because I'm a bad reseller and a half decent collector. I'd rather have cards than cash. Thanks to LA CARD SHOW for hosting at Dodger Stadium!

Where is the line between collecting and reselling? I'm told all vendors are resellers. Can a reseller be a collector? Are vendors allowed to maintain personal collections? If I'm a collector and I sell something am I a reseller now? How many times do I have to sell something before I become a reseller?
