I picked this interview up on Bigfoot patrol in the Southern Olympics.

A woman from the area told me her father accidentally shot a young Bigfoot while sighting in his rifle near Humptulips Prairie, behind the old state gravel pit.

He heard the scream. Thought it was a person. Through-and-through in the shoulder. About the height of a teenage girl.

He grabbed medical supplies. When he came back, a much larger one was standing at the edge of the yard, just watching. He believed it was the father. It let him work.

He drew the moon in the dirt with a stick. Come back in two days. She says the big one nodded.

They came back for about a week and a half. Every time, moss and chewed plants had been packed under the bandage. The wound closed fast.

Then they stopped coming. Fruit started showing up on the front porch in little handmade baskets. Dad told Mom it was “just a friend.”

She didn’t believe him… until she saw one herself after midnight on the road out of Hoquiam. Taller than her four-door dually.
