The Blaze

The Blaze The Blaze is Redmond High School's student run school newspaper. The Blaze is completely student edited and written from students of all grades.

As it is currently a club at RHS, permanent writing positions are always available on the staff, as well as the opportunity to write freelance articles that may be posted in our next issue. The Blaze is published four times a year and distributed around the school. Twitter:

Doug Kimball, long time adviser of The Blaze, aptly described the importance of the paper in his guest column for the Redmond Reporter last year. We are doing our best to keep his vision and the student voice alive through every issue we publish.
The Blaze is openly searching for advertisers for our winter edition, to be published on December 16th. For more information, contact us through this page or email Sneha Durairaj ([email protected]) or Emily Savage ([email protected]).

As adviser to The Blaze newspaper for most of my 34 years at Redmond High School (RHS), I was very interested in the Redmond Reporter’s article about the newspaper’s financial and structural problems. I commend Ms. Badger and the students for keeping the paper alive in some form.

The Blaze provides the opportunity for students to explore in their interests and also share their thoughts on current world events, the arts, sports, and opinions. Not a writer? We are always looking for student photographers either to share their work online or to take pictures for our articles. The Blaze is a great place to meet new people and improve your writing/photo taking skills (also it looks great on college apps). If you are interested in joining the team for second semester, please contact us at [email protected].
