I know you're all just dying to know who is the mind behind the macabre, and now that we have wrapped up our cast spotlight it is time to introduce you to our director Philip Cornwall.
Hello, I am Philip Cornwall, Writer and Director of "Roseblood". As far back as I can remember, I've always been writing stories, which led to filmmaking. After I graduated from The Los Angeles Film School, I worked in the film industry on several productions as a production assistant, and after helping other filmmakers achieve their vision it brought to light a simple fact: I want to make my own movies, and tell my own stories. After moving back to Washington I wrote many scripts, and completed my first full length feature in 2018, a psychological horror about agoraphobia entitled Dusk to Dusk. After that, I worked as a cinematographer on the short films "Silence", "Monstr", and "The Groke".
As the saying goes, "fiction is the truth inside the lie". While writing "Roseblood" I kept this thought with me, realizing that while these are made up characters, many of which are amalgams of people I've come across over the years, I know there is a truth inside their characterizations. I've always been entranced by the darker side of the human psyche, and this time around I was compelled to add loads of dark humor to the mix. It's a supreme pleasure to work with my friend/creative partner Cameron Lee Price again, after collaborating with him on "Dusk to Dusk". As a producer he has put together an amazing team of talented PNW crew, and I can't wait to bring my vision of "Roseblood" to life. It's gonna be killer.
