As many of you know, December 14, 2025, was the absolute worst day of our lives. After an eight-day battle following a devastating diagnosis, and doctors telling us there was nothing they could do, we lost Robbie. Prior to this, we had absolutely no idea he was even sick.
I had been with Robbie since I was 17 years old. We were married on February 14, 2004, and together we built a life, a family, and a business. Robbie started working for Ford dealerships at just 15 years old, beginning at the bottom and working his way to the top. He would never have wanted praise, and he always said there was someone who knew more than he did, but you could never make me believe that. In our eyes, he walked on water.
In October 2007, we welcomed our first pride and joy, and together we decided I would be a stay-at-home mama. Robbie became Senior Master Certified in Gasoline Engines in 2005. In June 2011, we welcomed our second bundle of joy. In 2012, he became Senior Master Certified in Diesel Engines. He worked hard for everything he had and took great pride in his work.
After much consideration, we decided that after nearly 23 years of his life being dedicated to dealerships and someone else's schedule, it was time to build something of our own. In January 2020, OutKast Automotive was born.
Robbie was determined that no matter how I felt about the name "OutKast," that was what his shop would be called. If you ever had the pleasure of knowing Robbie, then you know exactly what the word OutKast meant to him and why he was so passionate about it. Robbie never hid his wild side. If he liked you, you knew it, and if he didn't, you knew that too.
OutKast Automotive was never just a business to Robbie—it was his dream, his passion, and a reflection of the man he worked so hard to become.
Over the last three years of his life, he became an even better man. He started going to church and gave his life to Jesus. His faith became a very important part of who he was.
Robbie built incredible relationships with his customers, many of whom became more like family. They always came back, and they always sent others his way. For most of the time OutKast Automotive was open, Robbie was the only technician, doing all of the work himself. He took great pride in knowing every job was done the right way, his way, the first time. His reputation was his name, and he built a name that earned the respect of so many people.
Robbie never believed in taking shortcuts. If something wasn't right, he fixed it. If a customer had a question, he took the time to answer it. If he gave someone his word, he kept it. He treated people the way he wanted to be treated, and that is why so many customers became friends and so many friends became family.
I worked alongside him to the best of my ability and did everything I could to help. We were truly the definition of a mom-and-pop shop.
When Robbie passed away, I lost more than my husband, and our girls lost more than their daddy. I lost my best friend, my business partner, and my coworker. We lost our income, our provider, and our protector.
The truth is, I never imagined I would be here at 41 years old trying to figure out how to move forward without the man I had spent more than half my life with. Every decision I make now is one I thought we would make together. There are days I still reach for my phone to call him, and there are days I walk into the shop expecting to see him standing there. Losing Robbie changed every part of our lives, but one thing that hasn't changed is how proud we are of what he built and the legacy he left behind.
After much prayer and consideration, my girls and I have decided that, in order to provide for ourselves and continue what Robbie worked so hard to build, we will continue selling automotive accessories, hunting products, and other items. We have been working hard to add new products and create a complete list of what we will be offering. We will have two convenient delivery locations—our shop in Reidsville and my brother's shop in Claxton—and most items can be professionally installed by appointment.
We want to continue carrying Robbie's legacy with pride while still being able to serve our customers and provide for our family. Please keep us in mind when you are in the market for automotive accessories, hunting products, and other items, and don't hesitate to reach out with any questions. I am constantly working to add new items that I believe will be beneficial to both our returning customers and our new customers.
At this time, we will not be reopening the shop on a full-time basis because I do not have anyone I trust to do the work and carry Robbie's name and reputation the way they deserve to be carried. The shop may not be open the way it once was, but the values Robbie built OutKast Automotive on—honesty, hard work, and treating people right—will always remain through me and our girls.
