Some days are great, some days are hard. This last week, Josh and I got some news that was something we’ve never experienced.
The backstory:
In late January, I went to the hospital for heart palpitation. After all the tests, I found out my birth control had failed and I was pregnant. (Only 3-7 days pregnant to be exact)! This wasn’t what we wanted or expected but it was what it was. As the weeks came and went, we began to accept the fact that we were having a baby, (ready or not, baby number 5 on the way). On Tuesday of this last week, I woke up with some blood. We went to the hospital to find out that I had miscarried. This is something that we’ve never experienced and it’s a pain that I can’t describe. My heart feels empty. It’s a different pain and emptiness and it’s really something I can’t put into words. For any person that has ever experienced a miscarriage, my heart is with you while on this journey. I’m so saddened that this baby isn’t with us anymore. I can only hope that if there is a heaven that he or she is there. As I walk this new life with experiencing a loss I’ve never felt before, I hope to focus on my self care and learn to cope with such an unimaginable loss. Thank you to my family and friends that have reached out to me during this time to check on me. I’ve had to learn that it’s okay to not be okay.
