Reno Chamber Orchestra Names New Executive Director

The Reno Chamber Orchestra Board is excited to announce the appointment of Mason Duplissie as its new Executive Director, effective July 1, 2026. Duplissie will succeed Amy Heald, who will step down in June 2026.

Mason Duplissie brings a wealth of experience as both an arts administrator and musician. He previously served as the Executive Director of the Santa Clara Chorale and the Director of Artistic Operations for the 23rd Army Band, where he led a team of over 40 direct reports and oversaw the logistical ex*****on of 117 performances annually.

Mason holds a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Maine and a Master of Music degree from Shenandoah Conservatory. His career has taken him across six countries on three continents as both an educator and performing musician. He is currently completing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Utah.

“The Board of Directors is confident that Mason's vision, leadership, and passion for the arts will help guide the Reno Chamber Orchestra into an exciting new chapter.” Eric Lovejoy Board President continues, saying, “We look forward to welcoming him as we begin our 52nd season and continue our tradition of enriching Northern Nevada through exceptional musical performances and educational outreach.”

In this role, Mason Duplissie will oversee the daily operations of the Reno Chamber Orchestra, as well as strategic planning. The Board and Search Committee conducted an extensive search to find a leader who will drive growth and has the passion required to support the Reno Chamber Orchestra's commitment to providing pathways to bring classical music to our community.

"I am grateful for the trust that the staff, musicians, and board have placed in me as I step into the Executive Director role for the Reno Chamber Orchestra,” said Duplissie. “I'm excited to continue supporting the Nevada Chamber Music Festival and the RCO in providing quality, intimate musical experiences to audiences across the region."

Reno Little Theater presents:

"The Play That Goes Wrong"
By Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, & Henry Shields

July 10-August 9, 2026

The only thing that goes right...is the laughter

Reno Little Theater invites audiences to celebrate Artown and experience an evening of spectacular theatrical disaster with The Play That Goes Wrong, the internationally acclaimed comedy by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, and Henry Shields.

The Play That Goes Wrong follows the earnest but hopelessly accident-prone Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society as they attempt to stage a classic 1920s murder mystery. Unfortunately, opening night is plagued by collapsing sets, disappearing props, missed cues, forgotten lines, and one catastrophe after another. The result is a fast-paced comedy packed with physical humor, impeccable timing, and enough chaos to leave audiences laughing from curtain up to curtain call.

For theater lovers, it's a hilarious love letter to live performance and the unpredictable magic of the stage. For everyone else, it's an unforgettable comedy where the harder the cast tries to save the show, the more spectacularly everything falls apart.

With elaborate stage effects, larger-than-life characters, and nonstop surprises, this production showcases the talent and dedication of Reno Little Theater's artists, technicians, and volunteers, many of whom are working overtime to make sure everything goes wrong exactly as planned.

The Play That Goes Wrong is directed by Melissa Taylor and features an all-local cast, including Caulder Temple, Ian Sorensen, MJ Boga, AJ Clopton, Angelo “Lily” Perez, Naima Duarte, Evelyn Megia Ronquillo, Morgan Nott, Patrick Mink, Bayler Eaton, Matthew Highground, Allie Cheney, and Moira Laughlin, with stage management by Riley Kveton.
Assistant direction is provided by Ryan D. Hartley, with fight and movement direction provided by Nate Hodges and Adi Cabral.

Performance Details:
Reno Little Theater – 147 E. Pueblo St., Reno, NV July 10, 2026 – August 9, 2026

FEATURES:
The west side of Carson City was settled in the late 1850’s at the beginning of the largest silver rush in history. It was a time of great prosperity, discovery, and excitement as Nevada became the “battle born” state in 1864.

Some of the outside stops along the tour include:

• The Bliss Mansion – Built by Duane Bliss, is a three-story, 8,500 sq ft. mansion that was completed in 1879, built by millionaire Duane L. Bliss, to become his dream home.

• Ferris Mansion - Home of George Ferris, Jr., inventor of the Ferris Wheel for the Chicago World Columbian Exposition in 1893.

• The Governor’s Mansion - Is situated on the beautiful Mountain Street, or as Madame Curry calls it: “Celebrity Row”. In 1907, the “Mansion Bill” and neighbor Mrs. T.B. Rickey made this residence possible 40 years after Nevada became a state. There are many spirits linked to this mansion and area.

• Rinckel Mansion - Built by the fortune of Mathias Rinckel, a forward-looking meat magnate who struck it rich supplying Gold Rushers and Lake Tahoe lumbermen.

🗣Call for artists, sponsors for North Tahoe Utility Box Art Project🗣

Artists are invited to apply for a new public art initiative that will transform utility boxes in Tahoe City and Kings Beach into vibrant works of art. Sponsors are also being sought to help fund the project.

The North Tahoe Chamber, Tahoe City Downtown Association, and Kings Beach District are partnering on the North Tahoe Utility Box Art Project as part of the North Tahoe Community Alliance Town Center Revitalization Project. The project goal is to create actionable, pedestrian-friendly, and economically vibrant town centers that benefit both residents and visitors. The North Tahoe Utility Box Art Project is one of the first initiatives being undertaken as part of this work. This project is being funded by the Tahoe Fund, the North Tahoe Chamber, and local sponsors.

Artists are invited to submit original artwork for utility boxes in Tahoe City and Kings Beach. Selected artwork will be professionally installed using vinyl wraps on Liberty utility boxes in both town centers. Artists of all experience levels, including student artists, are encouraged to apply. The submission deadline is July 6, 2026.
Local businesses also have the opportunity to sponsor artwork on utility boxes. Sponsorship contributions will help cover the costs of artist stipends, vinyl wrap production, materials, and installation.

The project aims to enhance the visual appeal of key corridors, reduce graffiti, support local and regional artists, and create a more welcoming experience for residents and visitors.

Project details, the full Call to Artists, and application information are available at VisitTahoeCity.org/utility-box. Businesses interested in sponsoring a utility box may find details on the website or can email [email protected].

Brüka Theatre finishes the 33rd season as we began—in a nightclub. Brüka’s 33rd season concludes with the 1998 revival of CABARET (Kander, Ebb, Materoff). Set as the glittering, dark 1920s give way to the emerging Third Reich, the Master of Ceremonies welcomes all to forget their troubles. His b***y songs provide wry commentary as Cabaret explores the heady, dangerous life of Berlin. Directed by Mary Bennett and Choreographed by Alexander Biber. Music Direction by Bill Quinby and Vocal Direction by Natalie Laster Jones. Cabaret runs from June 26 to July 18, 2026.

MORE ABOUT THE SHOW: The shadow of history stretches across time. Twenty-five years ago, Bruka brought Cabaret to life in the year 2000, confronting the promise and the peril of a new era. Now, for the 2025/2026 season, Bruka plunges into the heart of 1929/1930’s Berlin, offering a raw, authentic look at a dangerous world reflected in the decadence and mystique of Cabaret.

This year’s theme, "WILD CARD," promises an unpredictable, game-changing season that continues to explore live theatre in the raw, authentic, cutting-edge style that Brüka has become known for. With our 33rd season, we truly "walk on the wild side." In addition, our Studio 44 space will host workshops, community opportunities, house our theatrical books store, and serve as a conversational box office hub.

Good Luck Macbeth presents:

"The Crucigirls"
By Ash Atack, Libby Bakke, Rhiannon Box, and Chris Daniels

A Fetch GLM Original Parody!

Witch? OMG Karen! You can't just call someone a witch! Good Luck Macbeth’s beloved original parody programming brings you a classic tale of toxic popularity set in the height of the puritanical patriarchy. Move over, Arthur Miller, The Crucible is so like…last century or whatever.

The Crucigirls, a FETCH GLM original parody, reimagines the Salem witch trials through the lens of high school clique warfare, blending biting satire with modern feminist rage. In this outrageous mashup, courtroom hysteria meets cafeteria politics as a group of young women navigates reputation, power, fear, and the crushing expectations of a deeply patriarchal society.

Packed with rapid-fire comedy, pop culture references, and unapologetic political commentary, The Crucigirls skewers systems that pit women against each other while policing their anger, ambition, and autonomy. Audiences can expect explicit language, menstrual rage, political side eyes, and repeated attacks on the patriarchy, all delivered with sharp wit and chaotic energy.

The Crucigirls is written by Ash Atack, Libby Bakke, Rhiannon Box, and Chris Daniels, and features direction by Ryan D. Hartley. The all-local cast features Anna Haudrich, Sadie Moss, Clare Stephenson, Serena Dantzler, Lauren Estrada, Dylan Flynn, Alex Garcia Tapungot, Karly Tilman, Bryce Keil, Tom Cruz, Sean Bridges, Hannah Mills, Brian Ault, Charlotte Collins, Sophie Anderson, Diana Pinto, Willow Mayeux, and Alexandra Jobe. Stage management is provided by Josh Troyer with assistance from Ani Bennett- Fradkin.

Performance Details:
Good Luck Macbeth – 124 W. Taylor St, Reno, NV
June 26, 2026 – July 12, 2026
Tickets available at www.goodluckmacbeth.org

The Crucigirls contains explicit language, sexual references, discussions of misogyny and gender politics, stylized depictions of hysteria and persecution, menstrual humor, and aggressive mockery of patriarchal systems. Viewer discretion is advised.
