Frank Hawkins was a force at Nevada from 1977 to 1980, rushing for over 5,300 yards—second-most in NCAA history at the time—and earning All-American honors twice. He led the nation in rushing as both a junior and senior, putting the Wolf Pack on the map at the I-AA level.

Drafted by the Raiders in 1981, Hawkins brought grit and toughness to the NFL. At 5’9”, 210 pounds, he excelled in short-yardage situations and became a key part of the Raiders’ offense, helping them win Super Bowl XVIII in 1983 alongside Marcus Allen.

Over seven seasons—all with the Raiders—Hawkins totaled 1,659 rushing yards, 15 touchdowns, and 94 receptions across 88 games. He built a legacy as a team-first, hard-nosed back during one of the franchise’s most successful eras 🏈☠️
