A Symphony in Red: Nature's Abstraction
“Red October”, an image from my upcoming new series of abstract photographs called Impermanence, is currently on view at the Visual Artists' Union galleries in Iasi, Romania, from October 10 to October 30, 2024.
“Red October” encapsulates the essence of autumn, evoking a sense of wonder and introspection as viewers explore the dynamic interplay of color and motion. The intense, swirling shades of red, pink, orange, and the subtle presence of yellow create a potent sense of energy and dynamism.
This color palette, often associated with passion, warmth, and vigor and its dreamlike quality suggests a rhythmic dance that is both hypnotic and animated. This vibrant energy is balanced by a sense of grounding, an effect achieved through the inclusion of mellow tones of green and brown at the lower part of the composition. This grounding not only provides a visual rest for the viewer's eye but also introduces a contrast that enhances the overall dynamism of the work. The earthy tones suggest a connection to nature, symbolizing the ever-present steadiness beneath the fiery surface of emotions and experiences.
