Rust Life

Rust Life A new rockabilly lifestyle and culture magazine that will keep you entertained while on the john or on the road.

I changed the name of the magazine to Rust Life. Because I was having serious design issue's with the logo not jiving with my vision. We are also now a part of Kingpin Collective Entertainment. The managing editor and I will be pulling the magazine together over the next couple weeks and are on schedule for a July 1st release date! We will be featuring articles on eats from Reno to Vegas including the Mizpah Hotel's "Pittman cafe" , Dusty Miles and the Cryin' Shame, Lady Luck tattoo expo Reno 2014, Backseat Betties and the Whiskey Sirens Burlesque from Reno! Plus much much more!!!

So I am also the ringleader of a new burlesque troupe in addition to the magazine and lost key photography .

We at Rust Noir want to bring the very best content to all of our fans. As such we have brought on a new Managing Editor, Minx Crane to the team. She has a very entertaining sense of humor and writing style that will really make this magazine cohesive and alluring. Thank you all for your support. Cannot wait until July when you can order your first copy!

A little shoot and interview for Rust Noir of Dusty Miles and the Cryin Shame. Such an amazing band!

The unique thing about shooting tattoo shows, is all the extra "hot lights". Like old glamour photography from the 40's where they used continuous lighting as key lights, its the same for all the blinding true white florescent's perched close to an artist's face. It give's me the opportunity to kill it with creative photograhy, making each photo a piece of art within it's self. For those photos, you'll have to wait for the magazine ;-)

Editing photos from yesterday. Remember. I only have one or two that I will post up for teasers, but until it goes to print, I like to keep everything a surprise :-)

Had a great day yesterday at the Lady Luck Tattoo expo. Talked with Tim Azinger of Pinnacle Tattoo in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, who is the host of the event. Also had some brief discussions with a lot of talented artist's. Thank you to everyone who smiled for the camera and let us come into your booth to get the shots we needed. Article to come out in July's issue

Well today we are venturing out to the Lady Luck Tattoo Conventio. At Circus Circus. I will be shooting and my trusty sidekick will be there to help with notes and documentation. Also Cynthia Lewis from Dressed Like That! Here in Reno submitted her summertime themed article for July's issue. It is an excellent and informative read. Hope to see you some of you at todays show!

Who's ready for season?!! It is that time of year again, where all of us who are involved within this industry are preparing for a whirl wind of non-stop action until October. What a great community and culture that we are so lucky to be a part of. The goal for this magazine is to not only appeal towards all of us who eat, breath, live vintage 24-7-365, but also to those who are not so aware of our role as curators of Americana. The car's that we worship and pay homage to 9 months out of the year is a part of an era that would be lost if it was not for builders, collectors, owners and fans. It is our responsibility to maintain our lifestyle for future generations. The yaris a 16 year old drives is not going to be at a car show in 30 years. But my 64 year old Bel-Air today, will still be shown off at shows when shes almost a hundred.

With the 2014 season revving up, here are some photos from last year.
