These are Nevada sunsets, people who say another state has better ones are wrong! Rules are rules!

From the fiery red skies over Valley of Fire and Red Rock Canyon to the breathtaking evening colors reflecting across Lake Tahoe, Nevada puts on a show every single night.

Add in the bright lights of Las Vegas, the rugged beauty of the Ruby Mountains, the wide-open desert landscapes, and the endless horizons of the Silver State, and there's really no debate.

Nevada does sunsets differently—and that's just the way it should be. Rules are rules!

Ah yes, the Nevada Roadwork Special.

Every year, crews finally finish paving a perfectly smooth stretch of highway somewhere between Las Vegas, Reno, Carson City, Elko, or Henderson... and then immediately remember there's a water line, gas line, fiber optic cable, utility conduit, or some forgotten piece of Silver State history buried underneath it that absolutely must be dug up a week later.

At this point, road construction in Nevada isn't a project—it's a seasonal tradition. The same road gets paved, cut open, patched, repaved, widened, rerouted, and patched again so many times it has more layers than a casino buffet.

You can drive across the Mojave Desert, past Red Rock Canyon, around Lake Tahoe, through Virginia City, and somehow still end up in a construction zone.

Scientists are currently investigating whether Nevada road crews are trapped in a never-ending desert time loop or if orange traffic cones are actually the state's most abundant natural resource.

Either way, if you see open pavement in Nevada, enjoy it quickly. It may already be scheduled for excavation by next Tuesday.

Another Nevada ranching family, this time in Carson Valley, is gaining attention across the Silver State after turning down a massive multimillion-dollar offer from developers who wanted to convert their open ranchland into warehouses, subdivisions, and industrial development.

The offer was life-changing money. But they chose to hold onto the land their grandparents worked for generations.

They said:

“For generations, through every Nevada season — the cold mountain winters, the windy spring mornings, the scorching summer sunsets, and the golden valleys in fall — this land has fed cattle, supported families, and kept the spirit of Nevada alive. It wasn’t about the money. It was about protecting something that truly matters.”

As rapid development continues spreading outward from Reno, Sparks, and the Tahoe region, more ranchland across Northern Nevada is facing pressure from industrial projects and expanding neighborhoods.

But this family stood firm.

A reminder that not every acre in Nevada is for sale. Some land still supports real ranching families, preserves open space, and carries a legacy worth far more than any payout. 🌄🌾🐎

Dear Nevadans,

If your road trip doesn't include a stop at Lake Tahoe, Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire, Virginia City, Hoover Dam, or a sunset somewhere along a lonely desert highway, we're not saying you're doing Nevada wrong...

We're just saying it could be a whole lot better.

From the bright lights of Las Vegas and Reno to the rugged beauty of Great Basin National Park, the Ruby Mountains, and the endless open spaces that make the Silver State unforgettable, Nevada has a way of turning every journey into an adventure.

The unofficial rule of Nevada:

You drive six hours across Nevada. You fill up the gas tank twice, buy snacks in three different small towns, stop for photos at Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire, and Lake Tahoe, and spend 20 minutes convincing yourself that taking the scenic route was absolutely the right decision.

Five minutes later, a wild b***o appears out of nowhere, blocks the road, stares directly into your soul, and refuses to move.

No fear. No urgency. No explanation.

Just standing there like it owns the highway, the mountains, the desert, and possibly your vehicle.

Welcome to Nevada.

You're not on a road trip. You're just participating in a state-wide negotiation with wildlife, desert highways, and landscapes so beautiful you'll pull over every ten miles for another photo.

From Las Vegas and Reno to Virginia City, Great Basin National Park, Hoover Dam, and the endless open roads of the Silver State, Nevada operates by its own rules.

And somehow, the b***o is in charge.

Get in, we're saving Nevada.

In all seriousness, I didn't spend my life believing in the potential of the Silver State just to sit back and watch Nevada settle for less. Nevada has the workers, the entrepreneurs, the innovators, and the natural resources to lead the nation.

From Las Vegas and Reno to Carson City, Henderson, Elko, Ely, and the rural communities that keep this state moving, Nevada is built by hardworking people who deserve leadership that works just as hard for them.

We have world-class tourism, growing technology industries, mining, renewable energy, small businesses, and some of the most breathtaking landscapes in America. From Lake Tahoe and Hoover Dam to Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire, and Great Basin National Park, Nevada has everything it needs to thrive.

What we need is leadership willing to fight for Nevada's future, support working families, strengthen our communities, and ensure opportunity reaches every corner of the state.

So if you're looking for polished political talking points, I may not be your person.

But if you're looking for someone who will stand up and fight for Nevada?

Yours truly is ready.

Just when you think you've seen it all in Nevada.

While driving through a quiet corner of the Silver State, I spotted a scene that made me do a double take. Someone had turned the front half of an old car into yard art, complete with desert landscaping and a tree growing right out of it. Only in Nevada could something look abandoned, artistic, historic, and completely normal all at the same time.

From the colorful streets of Las Vegas and Reno to the historic charm of Virginia City, the ghost towns near Ely, and the hidden backroads stretching across the desert, Nevada is full of surprises around every corner.

You can spend the day exploring Lake Tahoe, Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire, Hoover Dam, or Great Basin National Park and still find something that leaves you scratching your head on the drive home.

Nevada never stops being interesting. Just when you think you've seen everything, the Silver State finds a new way to surprise you.

Downtown Las Vegas came alive this weekend as thousands gathered to celebrate community, diversity, and pride across Nevada.

From the bright lights of Las Vegas to the vibrant communities of Reno, Henderson, Carson City, Sparks, and beyond, Nevadans came together in a powerful display of unity, acceptance, and support.

The Silver State is home to people from all walks of life, and events like these remind us that Nevada's strength comes from its diversity, resilience, and welcoming spirit.

Against the backdrop of iconic Nevada landmarks, from the Las Vegas Strip to Lake Tahoe, Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire, and the vast open landscapes that define our state, thousands marched, celebrated, and shared a message of pride and belonging.

Nevada shines brightest when everyone has the freedom to be themselves.
