We recently signed a marketing agreement with Alachua County Public Schools (ACPS), a new partner.
The agreement gives us the right to develop on more than 20 Florida sites comprising high schools, middle schools, and administrative centers.
Our first tower with ACPS is Santa Fe High School in Gainesville. This 110-foot will be in service by the fourth quarter of 2022!! 🙌🏽

Milestone Towers Appoints Oswaldo Reyes-Chica as Executive Vice President-Chief Integration Officer.
In his new role, he will lead the development of Milestone’s overall business strategy. He will also be responsible for integrating and coordinating the company’s operations, technology systems and team members to ensure everything, and everyone, works together to deliver optimal results.
Ozzie comes to Milestone from ExxonMobil Fuels & Lubricant Company, where he advised leadership teams, guided cross-functional decision making and led the company’s digital transformation efforts for its North America and Latin America lubricants business. Prior to ExxonMobil, he was an executive at Accenture Federal Services’ office in the Washington, D.C. area. While there, he helped his clients solve a wide range of complex problems, from implementing sophisticated information technology to integrating their essential functions into unified ecosystems.
“Ozzie is a results-driven leader with more than 20 years of experience in management and corporate strategic planning,” said Len Forkas, Milestone’s president and founder. “He has an innate ability to see the big picture, manage diverse teams and resolve challenges effectively, making him an ideal choice to serve as Milestone’s EVP.”
Outside of work, Ozzie serves on the board of directors for Hopecam, a nonprofit that Forkas founded in 2003 to help children with cancer overcome social isolation through virtual connections with their schools. He holds a Bachelor of Science in International Business and Finance from Old Dominion University and a Master of Business Administration in Project Management and Information Technology from American University.

Our team worked to obtain consent from the Warrenton, Virginia Town Council, and The Fauquier County Public Schools to construct and install a 115-foot monopole telecommunications tower that will drastically improve internet speed for the community surrounding FHS and Waterloo. Installed at the corner of the Fauquier High School (FHS) baseball field, the tower seamlessly blends in with the existing light poles. To further benefit the community, Fauquier County Public Schools will receive 40% of all gross revenues generated from carriers locating on the tower. Both Verizon and T-Mobile will expand service.

Community safety is always our #1 priority. Since 2012, we’ve partnered with Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) to build and install 9 towers that increase both connectivity and public safety in rural areas marked by poor wireless service. In April, we completed a safe, space-appropriate tower at a site in Shady Side, Maryland and took great care to help alleviate the concerns of parents, residents and the school board. We routinely adhere to safety guidelines that far exceed industry standards and perform annual tests to ensure compliance with Federal Communications Commission guidelines. Verizon will expand service and provide enhanced public safety connectivity when the tower goes on air in July.

Milestone is pleased to announce that it has executed a nationwide Master Lease Agreement with Englewood-based DISH Network. DISH seeks to occupy space on 25 of our sites in 2021 and many more locations in targeted markets where Milestone has tower assets. With the goal of developing a 5G network in just 5 years, DISH is currently intending to commence construction on 15 of our sites this summer/fall.

C-Band Auction Results
The Federal Communications Commission has announced the final results of the C-Band auction 107, with a total of 21 winning bidders spending more than $80 billion, and the distribution of 280 MHz of C-band spectrum.
The top five highest winning bidders are Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, UScellular and NewLevel II. The results are generating a lot of buzz in the wireless industry, as this marks a turning point for 5G networks nationwide.

T-Mobile Just Keeps Growing!
It’s been quite the year for T-Mobile. After merging with Sprint, they surpassed AT&T and became the second-largest wireless carrier in the US. They haven’t stopped there though; they recently purchased Shentel and their wireless assets for $1.95 billion, receiving 1.1 million additional subscribers.
