Dinner and a show! 🥢🔥 I had the best time at Sake Japanese Steakhouse. From the steak and salmon hibachi to the chicken yakitori and gyoza, everything was 10/10. Definitely worth the trip! 🍣✨

Hey Ramen Lovers, see what happens when happy hour turns into a full meal 🍣

We started with the kitchen bites, because that’s always the right move.

The chicken karaage was crisp and juicy, the dumplings were solid, but the Kusshi wings stole the show, they had a nice kick and were so good we ordered two orders. No regrets.

Then came the real crab taco, and wow. Stuffed to the brim with rich, sweet crab meat wrapped in a seaweed “taco shell.” One of those bites you immediately stop talking for.

For sushi, we kept it classic: spicy tuna roll, salmon avocado roll, and the Baltimore roll. And of course, the seared fatty salmon this is always my favorite at Kusshi. Always.

By this point it was clear happy hour had officially become dinner, so we went all in.

We ordered the tempura udon noodle soup, ramen, and the Wagyu fried rice (which we almost forgot to photograph because it was that good). And not pictured, but absolutely worth mentioning, the pork katsu donburi, comfort food perfection.

This is the kind of happy hour you come to when you actually want good food, not just small plates and drinks.

Safe to say… I’ll be back.

✨The Picky Ramen Lover Returns!✨

Back at it with my first foodie adventure in almost a year, of course I had to bring the Mini-Ramen Lover with me to indulge!!

This time at Kanji Izakaya in Arlington, VA 🍜

We ordered a little bit of everything: crispy veggie tempura, juicy gyoza, salmon + cucumber rolls, yakitori, and two huge ramen bowls: the Tokyo Tonkotsu Shoyu and Kyushu Tonkotsu Shio. Oh, and I cannot forget the Monster Roll brought out on a freaking dragon🐉, and sweet crepe cakes that ended the night perfectly 🍰

The Kyushu Tonkotsu Shio ramen definitely stole the show for me, it was super rich, balanced, and comforting. The Shoyu was milder than I expected, and the yakitori could use a little more punch, but everything was fresh and beautifully plated.

If you’re in Arlington, swing by during their daily Happy Hour for reduced-price drinks + appetizers it's the perfect way to sample your way through the menu without breaking the bank 💙

🍜🍜 is back 🙌🏾 a little wiser, a little pickier, and ready for more bowls, bites, and honest reviews!

I will make a lengthier post about each later this week, but I wanted to share some highlights with you guys now.

The Bistro Cacao was fantastic, I had never been this experience was so needed. I loved everything about this restaurant, I believe voted most romantic in DC. The decor really sets the scene for a fabulous and delicious meal ahead.

The newly renovated Folger Theatre presented Romeo and Juliet. Caldwell's modern take on this classic was beyond measure. I absolutely loved the sets, the costumes, and how the story was presented to the audience. Adding additional culture through language and casting was perfection. Honestly, I know I will need to see this play again before it closes on November 10th.

Big thank you to .exploredc for inviting me on this spectacular night out.

It's the 1st of October🎃 and all I want is cloudy skies, colorful leaves, and hot savory Ramen.

I know fall starts in September, but for me October 1st is when it really feels like fall

There is a slight chill in the air that has me craving comfort and spookey👻 stories.

How are you celebrating today?

Don't forget to blow cinnamon in through your doorway!🧙🏾

Hey Ramen Lovers, I hit up over the weekend, and I'm just wondering why did it take me so long?!!

Everything was soo yummy! I stopped in their fast casual section Love On The Run. You order at the Kiosk, and your food is made to order fresh and quick!!

Like you know it's fresh because you can see them chopping their fresh ingredients, and making their sweet treats right out front. I love that.

Another plus, they make all their noodles in house. I love the extra dedication taken to make the most delicious and fresh bowl of ramen.

The Ramen 🍜
● Shio Ramen ▪︎ $14.00😋

Pork Tonkotsu Broth | Pork Chashu | Wood Ear Mushrooms | Green Onion | Garlic Oil | Sesame seeds | Housemade Noodles

This bowl was a bit different for me, most shio or salt ramen that I've had is made with a chintan or clear chicken broth. This bowl was made with a thick and very creamy Tonkotsu broth. I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked this. Their house made noodles are a little on the thicker side and they were perfect for pulling up the broth when slupring. Very filling and yummy bowl!!

● Nagoya Tantanmen Ramen ▪︎ $16.00🌶

Pork, Chicken and Sesame Broth | Spicy Ground Beef and Pork | Seasoned Bean Sprouts | Spinach | Green Onion | Spice Bomb | Szechaun Oil | Housemade Noodles

This bowl was everything I need in a Tantanmen bowl. I loved the mix of the pork and ground beef, this was a very flavorful combo. Like the Shio bowl, the broth was very thick and creamy perfect compliment to the thicker house made noodles. This bowl has a bit of a kick 🌶 with the szchaun oil and spice bomb🔥. So delicious!!

Sides I Ordered

●Pan Fried Pork & Ginger ▪︎ $14.00🥟

5 Pork and Ginger Filled Dumplings w/ Black Vinegar Dressing.

●California Roll ▪︎ $16.00🍣

Jumbo Lump Crab | Avocado | Cucumber Nori | Tobiko | Wasabi Mayo | Sesame Seeds

● Chicken Karaage ▪︎ $7.00🍗

Fried Chicken Breast Nuggets, Sudachi Aioli.
