After-School Theatre Program

Theatre is about so much more than performing. It brings people together and helps students build confidence, communication skills, teamwork, friendships, and a strong work ethic—all while creating memories and having a great time!

Our program encourages every student to feel welcome, supported, and valued. We believe that when kids work together, encourage one another, and have fun, they can discover just how much they are capable of!

Starting September 14

And this year, we’re excited to take the stage with our spring production of Newsies Jr. in April!

Kray Van Kirk

A fine finger-style guitarist with a precise baritone, Kray Van Kirk has a Ph.D. from the University of Alaska, but he set science aside to write songs, tell stories and summon heroes. Within those songs and stories are echoes he hopes audiences will hear and realize that THEY are the summoned heroes. With the release of his 6th CD, Empire (March 1, 2026), he addresses justice, fury, and renewal in the face of 500 years of Empire in the US.

Thus his songs: Thunderbird resurrects the Phoenix in an empty desert diner in the American Southwest (yes, the Phoenix drives a Thunderbird), The Queen of Elfland plucks Thomas the Rhymer from the English-Scottish border in 1250 and drops him and the Queen into a subway car, The Library Song has Superman moonlighting among the stacks, Hellhound summons a spectral justice for evil, and The Midnight Commander celebrates an insane old man leading the city of New York to take up arms (and underwear) against hatred.

Climbing Together: How Rexburg’s Premier Action Hub is Growing Strong Kids and a Tight-Knit Community

Finding a workout spot that actually feels like a community can take some trial and error. But if you head down Jet Stream Drive to The Rock Gym and Teton CrossFit, you’ll quickly realize they’ve built something different. Walking in, you’re greeted by over 6,000 square feet of massive bouldering walls and functional fitness gear, but the real standout feature is the vibe. They run on a simple idea: “We Rise By Lifting Others.” On any given night, you’ll see college students on casual dates, gym regulars hitting new personal records, and absolute beginners all sharing the same chalk and cheering each other on. There is no intimidation here—just neighbors genuinely rooting for each other.

That same encouraging energy is exactly what makes their youth programs stand out. The After-School Climbing Clubs and Youth Fitness Classes have become a go-to spot for local kids to channel their extra energy into building genuine physical confidence. Whether a child is joining a casual recreational group to learn the ropes or stepping up to the structured competitive teams, the focus stays on safety, foundational skills, and supporting your peers. It shifts exercise away from a solo chore and turns it into a team effort, teaching kids to build each other up while learning a new sport.

Local Mom Diana Moore shares, “My three boys are on the competitive team and it’s one of the few sports they can train and support each other and do together at the same time. For us, climbing is a family sport and it’s made us closer and helped my boys be even better friends and I appreciate all the experiences and memories they’re able to make and share.”
