On September 10, parents and staff of Northern Dutchess Day Care (NDDC) were alerted over email that the facility would shutter their doors on December 31st of this year, due to a financial deficit.

Many families were shocked and upset by the announcement and a select group of parents banded together to make their voices heard about what they want for NDDC and their children.

During the 2023-2024 school year at Rhinebeck High School, there was a policy which restricted phone usage in the classroom; however, it was implemented differently teacher to teacher. But this year, RHS has a tougher, more uniform policy. An email was sent out to all students explaining this new Code of Conduct:

“Cellphones/smartphones/smartwatches and/or listening devices are permitted to be used by high school students only in a scheduled high school study hall or during a scheduled lunch period, or by K-12 students on District transportation.”

In 2021, Dutchess County gave a grant of $50,000 to Learn, Play, Create, to the Morton Memorial Library in Rhinecliff. The library put it towards creating their very own MakerSpace, a program that practices alternative and creative learning, which just began its 3rd year.

Happening Saturday September 21st - Rhinecliff’s annual Chili Cook-Off!

Going into its 13th year, tomorrow’s cook off returns to Fireman’s Field. For the past 11 years, the charity event has been organized by Rhinecliff resident Cynthia Baer which benefits the Rhinecliff all-volunteer Fire Department.

Come join the festivities from 4-7pm!
