Stan Williams purchases Gibson Lumber on East Market Street in Rhinebeck and Williams Lumber is founded.
1963
Williams Lumber purchases Salt Point Supply Company and opens a second location.
1968
Williams Lumber moves its flagship location to Route 9 in Rhinebeck.
1980
To meet the needs of the growing community, Williams Lumber in Rhinebeck expands from 5500 sq.ft. to 13,000!
1985
To AGAIN meet the need of the growing community, Williams Lumber in Rhinebeck expands to 28,000 sq feet and is designated the Ace Hardware Store of the Future.
1989
Williams Lumber purchases and renovates Greenport Building Supply and creates Williams Lumber’s third location in Hudson.
Williams purchases Greenport Building Supply Company in Hudson.
1990
Williams Lumber in Rhinebeck expands again and becomes the largest independently home center in the area.
1993
Williams purchases Dain Lumber in Hopewell Junction and Highland.
1998
Williams purchases the Tannersville Supply Company in Tannersville.
1999
Williams creates Williams Express and moves to Red Hook
2002
Sandy Williams is named Dutchess County 2002 Business Person of the Year.
Williams purchases Cross Lumber in High Falls.
2008
Williams opens their brand new store in Hyde Park.
2010
