FROM GRIEF TO JOY 🎙️ NEW EPISODE OUT NOW

What happens when a man loses everything he thought defined him?

In this powerful conversation, I sit down with Jim “Bear” Katona, a man who has walked through unimaginable grief, battled his own demons, and emerged with a mission to spread joy, compassion, and human connection.

We talk about:

▪️ Living through profound loss
▪️ Men’s mental health and healing
▪️ Self-talk and personal transformation
▪️ Brotherhood and belonging
▪️ Finding purpose after pain
▪️ Why kindness may be the most powerful force we have

Bear’s story reminded me that healing doesn’t mean forgetting what happened.

It means learning how to carry it differently.

If you’re a man navigating grief, stress, loneliness, purpose, or simply trying to become a better human, this episode is for you.

Many men struggle with depression and anxiety in silence. They may look fine on the outside while carrying battles nobody sees. The hardest part is often not finding help but believing it is okay to ask for it. A conversation, a message, or simply being heard can make a real difference. Mental health deserves the same attention as physical health.

June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month.

Here’s what nobody talks about loud enough…

Every single day, men are losing their battle. Quietly. Alone. Carrying weight they were never supposed to carry by themselves.

Real men talk about it.

Brothers don’t let brothers suffer in silence.

If you’re reading this and you’re struggling… call someone today. If you know a man who has gone quiet… call him today. Don’t text. Call.

And if you don’t have a circle yet… we built one for you.

The Dude Nation is here. The First Circle is free. The door is open. 🤙

This weekend’s challenge. 🎯

Call one man this weekend.

Not text. Call.

Ask him “how are you, REALLY?”

And then… actually listen. No fixing. No advice. Just listen.

That’s it. That’s the whole challenge.

Drop a 🤙 below when you do it. Let’s see how many men get a real check-in this weekend.

This week I sat in circle with men who...

Cried for the first time in years.

Buried their fathers.

Told their wives the truth.

Welcomed new babies.

Faced their grief head-on.

Laughed harder than they have in months.

That’s a Tuesday in the Dude Dojo.

That’s Men’s Mental Health Awareness
Month in practice.

Brotherhood isn’t a concept, dude. It’s a circle.
It’s a Tuesday at noon.

🧠 Mental Health Check-In for Men

June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness. And we still have the highest rate of su***de 4:1. We’re the last to ask for help, and it still doesn’t always feel safe to express our true emotions.

So let’s get real today. Three questions. Drop your answers in the comments.

1. The hardest thing I’ve been carrying this month is…

2. One thing I do to take care of my mental health is…

3. One thing I’m committing to doing to improve my mental health this week is…

That’s it, brothers. No fixing. No advice. Just truth. We’ll all read every word.

You’re not alone. 🤙

Some men spend their whole lives running from grief. Bear learned to embrace it.

Today on Dude, You’re Getting Well I’m sitting down with Jim “Bear” Katona… aka the JoyTeeTude Dude… aka the Gentle Grizzly.

Bear has buried a daughter, two brothers, and more cousins than he can name. He had a near-death experience as an infant and a childhood with more trauma than any kid should carry. For years he was an angry man who didn’t think he’d see 30.

Then in June of 1999 he walked into a New Warrior Training Adventure with The Mankind Project. And everything changed.

Today he’s 66. He loves himself, which he says wasn’t always true. He coined a word called JoyTeeTude… Joy plus Gratitude… that’s now spoken in 28 countries. He hands out wooden coins to strangers and hugs people in grocery stores.

This is the man kicking off Season 4.

His story will make you cry and fill you with joy in the same breath.

Catch the LIVE interview today at 4 PM ET. Episode drops next week.
