The paper is circulated in the Rhinelander area of northeast Wisconsin in the counties of Oneida, Vilas, Forest and Lincoln, including the communities of Rhinelander, Tomahawk, Minocqua, Crandon, Pelican Lake and Three Lakes. Established in 1977 as “The Our Town”, the paper became the Star Journal in 2004.
