: Any ideas what these pipes are? They’re not up by the house so I don’t think they’re an old oil tank. They’re actually at the bottom of a large hill and very close to the shoreline of the lake. There are two and they each have two holes along the sides. They are very secure in the ground and have no writing on them. House was built in 1938, but they could’ve been there long before that.

"This item was screwed into a wooden post in a warehouse, by the eye screw at the bottom of the picture. Approximately 4” long, metal, and you can squeeze the two arms together as if they’re ice tongs.
