Air Jordan 3 “Do The Right Thing” - Released April 14, 2007 - Retail Price $135

In 2007 sneakerheads didn’t rely as heavily on the internet as they do now for release dates and where to buy on release dates. I can remember waking up and receiving a text from my coworker about the new Air Jordan 3s that were being released. At this time my cousin and I had an unspoken code of sneaker ethics. Any shoe that we knew was being released we would tell each other about. I called my cousin immediately and we agreed we would meet at the closest DTLR location.

I arrived at DTLR and there weren’t many people in line. I began dialing my cousin number to see how far away he was, I suddenly looked up and saw his car speeding through the parking lot headed in my direction. My cousin hopped out the car and his first words to me were “I just hit a yield sign in the parking lot”….

Weekly “Beaters”

True sneakerheads know that almost “every sneaker has a story”. I can easily recall how I acquired a majority of the kicks in my collection. I often reflect back on how old I was when I purchased the kicks, how much I paid for them, how long I waited in line for them or the struggle I went through to get them. Each week I’ll be highlighting a pair of “beaters” in my collection and telling my story behind the sneaker.
