New Ghostbusters Fan 'Newspaper' Headed to GBDay!

Who says print is dead? Ahead of The Buffalo Ghostbusters annual Ghostbusters Day celebration at the iconic Hook and Ladder 8 firehouse in New York, the team have already begun making announcements and teases for this year's festivities!

Among those are a new collaboration with the team behind WhoYaGonnaCall dot org! The site that is currently laying out the future of finding your closest franchise and resources for all your paranormal elimination, charity, or party needs!

While the well put together and comprehensive directory is a fantastic online directory, the team is looking to bring it into the real world, with the first ever Ghostbusters Franchise Newspaper!

A team of newsies will be on site during Ghostbusters Day this year to distribute the new publication, printed on real 11 x 17 newsprint, and filled to the brim with franchises across the globe, articles and a schedule of events related to Ghostbusters Day, Dan comics, and an exclusive pull page centerfold! BUT, print ain't cheap!

That's where YOU come in. Franchises as well as other Ghostbusters organizations and influencers interested, can purchase advertising space! The team behind WhoYaGonnaCall have offered a variety of options and sizes to be included in this first ever exclusive newspaper! All funds will go towards the publication, with any excess raised going to the Buffalo Ghostbusters charity efforts this year!

With only 3,000 copies to be made, this is your chance to contribute to a fan first for the largest gathering of Ghostbusters fans in the US! While this is a Ghostbusters Day special offering, the team is looking into pick up locations AND potential shipping for anyone who may not be able to make it to Hook and Ladder 8 this year.

Ghostbusters Animated Series: Now Hiring! 👻

Fans holding their breath and hoping for a trailer to drop any day now for the brand new animated Ghostbusters series out of Netflix can relax for now.

While the series is surely in active development, it seems as though the team at Sony Pictures Animation are still recruiting for the project, as a job listing went live this week for a CG Supervisor to overlook the process.

Sony Pictures Animation is looking for " an experienced FX artist to help define and drive the visual effects language for our upcoming CG animated Ghostbusters series."

While many similar productions under the Sony banner usually works with their best and brightest in house, they've decided to outsource certain aspects of the new series it seems.

Meanwhile, with Sony having a presence at this year's Cinemacon, many fans were hoping we might get some Ghostbusters updates! Unfortunately, they've been few and far between. There have been whispers that a sixth film was briefly mentioned during their presentation, and a highly detailed immersive Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire display was on site to promote the new Sony home entertainment system, but we'll have to wait a little bit longer for the Netflix animated series it seems.

The new CG animated Ghostbusters series was first announced at Sony's Ecto-Fest in 2002! Elliott Kalan, best known for his work on the Daily Show and Mystery Science Theater 3000 is attached as the series showrunner and executive producer, with Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan overseeing the project.

Reitman had said previously that the animated series being made in collaboration with Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation will explore a new decade and era of the Ghostbusters canon.

Separately, an animated Ghostbusters feature film is still in active development.

Japanese Ghostbusters Haul! 🇯🇵👻

Recently we decided to dive into some more obscure Ghostbusters collectibles by way of the Japanese market!

Our first supernaturally spectacular haul includes the Nintendo Famicom edition of Ghostbusters, the Japanese 1984 Novelization of Ghostbusters featuring some proton charged images from the film, character profiles, and even a map highlighting major events from the film! Last but certainly not least is a Japanese Ghostbusters 2 laserdisc!

There's one celebrity Deadpool WON'T touch and he's a Ghostbuster!

Famously, Deadpool is always game for a good roast both on and off the silver screen. More often than not, 'The Merc With The Mouth' can't seem to stop himself even if he tried. Although, there is one person he has too much respect for to even consider the insult, and it's Bill Murray!

In the first issue of Marvel's latest title, Pooluminati, even when the joke is set up for Deadpool he's more than clear in that he will NOT insult Bill Murray.

Wade Wilson and his daughter, the current Deadpool, finish their first big hit job together while Wade films for their 'sizzle reel'. When the collaboration warrants a mention of Francis Ford Coppola's own daughter Sofia, who directs Murray in Lost In Translation, Wade immediately and vocally refuses to sling shade at Bill Murray. Even if the joke is right there for him.

Deadpool protests, "I don't care if you're setting me up. The man was in GHOSTBUSTERS!"

So for the time being, it seems the Murricane should be considered safe from Deadpool be it insult or injury.

With Bill Murray making his MCU debut alongside fellow Ghostbuster Paul Rudd in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, it's not entirely unlikely the two could eventually meet up on the big screen! We'll see if Wade has the same amount of restraint then or is quick to point out the OG buster of any G-H-O-S-T.
