Through cutting-edge technology, researchers have reconstructed the face of a 14th-century soldier who fell during the brutal Battle of Visby, Sweden, in 1361. His skull bore clear signs of a fatal axe strike, shattered cheekbones, and broken teeth—testaments to the battle’s savage violence. In collaboration with 3D artist Cicero Moraes, the team meticulously rebuilt his features, from nose to eyes, while creatively interpreting hair and skin tone to bring this medieval warrior to life. This digital resurrection offers a hauntingly vivid glimpse into the human cost of history and the faces behind ancient conflicts.
