Think about David. He was in the shepherd’s fields at seventeen years old, taking care of his father’s sheep. His brothers were in the army. They had prestigious positions, people looked up to them. But David was doing something that felt insignificant. He had big dreams in his heart. He could feel those seeds of greatness, telling him that he was going to leave his mark, but all the circumstances said he was stuck. It was lonely out there, boring. I’m sure there were times he felt forgotten and thought, “Is this all there is?” God is not going to let you miss your purpose. You are not at the mercy of just who you know: your family, your friends, your colleagues. David didn’t have any substantial connections. He came from a low-income family. "After I became president, I asked my es**rt to go to a restaurant for lunch. We sat down and each of us asked what we wanted.

On the front table, a man was waiting to be served. When he was served, I said to one of my soldiers: go and ask that gentleman to join us. The soldier went and conveyed my invitation to him. The man got up, took his plate, and sat down right next to me.

While he ate his hands trembled constantly and he did not lift his head from his food. When we finished, he said goodbye without looking at me, I shook his hand and he left.

The soldier told me:

Madiba that man must have been very ill, seeing as his hands didn't stop shaking while he ate.-

Absolutely no! The reason for his trembling is another.

The man with 27,500 daughters.

They call him – Appa. But his real name is KP Ramaswamy. Owner of KPR Mills, Coimbatore. A textile baron by profession. A father figure by choice.

While corporate honchos talk about employee retention, cost-cutting, and bottom lines, this man is busy transforming lives.

How? By turning mill workers into graduates. By making education their stepping stone to a better life.

It all started with a simple request. A young girl at his mill once told him –
"Appa, I want to study. My parents pulled me out of school because of poverty, but I want to study further."

That one sentence changed everything.

Instead of giving his workers just a paycheck, he decided to give them a future.

He set up a full-fledged education system – right inside the mill.
❗️Four-hour classes after an eight-hour shift.
❗️Classrooms, teachers, a principal, even a yoga course.
❗️All fully funded. No strings attached.

And the result?
✈️ 24,536 women have earned their 10th, 12th, UG, and PG degrees.
✈️ Many are now nurses, teachers, police officers.
✈️ 20 gold medallists from Tamil Nadu Open University this year alone.

Now, you’d expect a businessman to worry about attrition. What if these women leave? What about workforce stability?

Here’s what KP Ramaswamy says –
"I don’t want to keep them in the mill and waste their potential. They are here because of poverty, not by choice. My job is to give them a future, not a cage."
And that’s exactly what he does….

They leave. They build careers. And then? They send more girls from their villages to the mill. The cycle continues.

This isn’t just a CSR initiative. This is Human Resource Development in its truest sense.

At a recent convocation, 350 women received their degrees. And KP Ramaswamy made an unusual request –
"If you or your friends can hire them, it will give other girls the hope to study further."

Think about it. A man running a multi-crore empire isn’t asking for business. He’s asking for jobs – for his workers.

How often do we see this?
This story isn’t just about KPR Mills. It’s a lesson in leadership, in corporate ethics, in nation-building.

B-Schools should teach this.
HR professionals should study this.
And the world needs to know this.

We meet TWICE DAILY at the UPPER ROOM ( NOT on this FB Page), Mondays through Saturdays. People dial in from every race, nation, tribes, peoples, tongues, with the purpose of legislating and executing God's counsel, plans and purposes, armed with the understanding of His will.

Our Vision To invade and transform the earth with the culture of heaven. And at the same time set up the stage for the grand Global Communion with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. (Read more on this vision from these Scriptures: Rev.7:9-17, Mtt. 6:10, Rev. 11:15, Eph. 1:10).

Our Mission We come together regularly, armed with God's will to strengthen, activate, inspire, provoke, edify and build up one another through intimate communion with the Father, in prayer, Word Feast, Book Reviews, Sharing of ideas, listening and fellowshiping with one another. These in turn help to awaken us corporately and individually, as well as equip us as we partner with the Holyspirit in bringing heaven's culture to the earth. "...And the earth shall be filled with them." (Ex. 1:7). Till the kingdoms of this world become the kingdoms of our God and of His Christ. Till the whole earth is saturated with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, just as waters cover the earth or as the clouds cover the sky.
