Big Durk has been at the forefront of the f!ght to keep his son’s lyrics out of the courtroom. The prosecution is using songs like "Wonderful Wayne & Jackie Boy" as evidence, and Big Durk has publicly slammed this move, stating that his son is being "criminalized for his creativity" and that rap is a performance, not a confession.

Since the arrest, Big Durk has stepped in to mentor the younger members of the Only The Family (OTF) collective. Drawing from his own 26-year sentence, he has been vocal about telling the "young brothers" to think long-term and avoid the mistakes he made in the 90s. He has essentially become the spiritual and moral anchor for Durk’s camp while his son is held without bail.
