Seeking talent for focus group project - NU - 8/6 - Richmond VA

Title: “In Community, August 2025”
Description: A fun, meaningful opportunity for a diverse group of women to meet up and explore their commonalities. This is a rare chance to have an immediate and positive impact on the fabric of American society while being paid!

8/6/2025 in Richmond, VA
Stipend: $400 per participant (less any fees). Galvanize USA will own the full copyright on all video captured at the event.
Talent Needs:
We are casting twelve (12) real women for a filmed social activation led by Galvanize USA, a certified (501)c3 nonprofit that supports women to use their civic power to create an America that works for everyone. We will cast for two groups of six women as follows:
–Caucasian women who represent a variety of ages, rural, suburban, and small town, under $100k household income, educational attainment no further than a bachelor’s degree, a mix of marital and parental statuses, q***r or straight, all with different looks (e.g. a fully tatted urban mom, a more conservative mom in church clothes, a grandmother or childfree older woman, etc).
–BIPOC women per group who represent a variety of ages, rural, suburban, and small town, under $100k household income, educational attainment no further than a bachelor’s degree, a mix of marital and parental statuses, q***r or straight, all with different looks (e.g. a young mom in a hijab, an older woman in her protestant Sunday best, a middle-aged business woman without kids, etc).
The Commitment:
Up to 4 hours on location in Richmond, VA on August 6th. We will have an AM group and a PM group. Participants should live within a driving distance of Richmond, VA and not require additional housing or amenities. The women will participate in a focus group with a facilitator asking discussion questions on a tbd topic. Topics will be provided before final casting decisions are made.
Final Outputs:
7 edited videos (per session) to be used on Meta and YouTube
1 video that is 30-45 minutes long (long-form dialogue that demonstrates differing opinions, widening perspectives, and changing your mind
2 videos that are 2-5 minutes long (short-form dialogue that demonstrates a community-feeling and the ability to widen perspectives
4 videos that are 60 seconds or less (snappy, attention-grabbing)
We will also use tbd footage to create (30) and (15) spots for our paid digital media

Context: In Focus is a series of beautifully honest conversations in which women from our community gather to talk about topics that matter but aren’t always easy to discuss without ruffling feathers. For your video:
–Introduce yourself with first and last name and location. Then discuss the following:

–or What’s a conversation you’d like to have but haven’t yet?
NOTE: They are looking to see you on camera and your personality as REAL as possible. They are NOT looking for acting so they want you to be REAL with your conversation in your video.
