Greetings All!
It has come to my attention that this page has been inactive for quite some time. The group was actively managed during the RVA Queerlandia stickers campaign, but has since become inactive when we finished giving away stickers. We've noticed that the group has certainly continued to grow steadily, presenting an opportunity to transform this social media space into an active organization that goes much much further than awesome stickers.
In addition to those awesome rainbow stickers, RVA Queerlandia was created with the goal of creating a safe place for the LBGTQIA community and bringing attention to the community's rich history in Richmond. Our vision was to transform a portion of Grace Street into a designated safe space, complete with signage as historic landmarkers to the LGBTQIA community.
What now? A call for an active administrator to power the revitalization, shape the vision, and complete the administrative gruntwork of RVA Queerlandia.
Please submit a statement to our inbox on why you should be the next RVA Queerlandia administrator including your ideas for vision, mission, strategies, etc. Please keep statements concise and less than a single page. Entries are by midnight June 5, 2015.
Voting will depend on the volume of statements received.
What's next for the group? I'm sure the new active administrator will take many polls regarding the direction of this group. Perhaps its better as just a social media space updating people on resources available in Richmond. Or maybe it will become a dynamic organization that fills in gaps in the LGBTQIA community. Or maybe, just maybe, one day Queerlandia will exist on Grace Street.
Cheers,
Kelly Hall
