As we mark this day on which Teilhard was born in France in 1881, we celebrate the three wonderful screenings in Rome of TEILHARD: Visionary Scientist which took place this April, 100 years to the month when Teilhard embarked on his 20-year exile to China. (That exile would be followed by another to New York City, where he died on Easter, 1955.) We will be posting memories from each of those three screenings in the weeks to come, continuing to rejoice as we do so in this long-awaited recognition of Teilhard and his vision.

In "The Divine Milieu." Teilhard de Chardin wrote: "Christ has conquered death, not only by suppressing its evil effects, but by reversing its sting. By virtue of Christ's rising again, nothing any longer kills inevitably but everything is capable of becoming the blessed touch of the divine hands." May this be our prayer on this .

Additional screenings the same week will also be held at the Jesuit Generalate and at the Gregorian University. These screenings are occurring 100 years to the month when Teilhard embarked on his 20-year exile to China. That exile would be followed by another to New York City, where he died on Easter, 1955.

: Looking back at 2025, we recall these highlights: A rebroadcast on Maryland Public Television of TEILHARD: Visionary Scientist - and an extension of the broadcast agreement with MPT for two more years. A seminar at Georgetown’s Initiative on Catholic Social Thought and Public Life connecting Teilhard with Laudato Si and Catholic Social Teaching. An Emmy nomination. A personal memoir centered on Teilhard. The 70th anniversary of Teilhard's death. The 100th anniversary of and its intersection with Teilhard's own life events in 1925. Five-star film reviews and insightful interviews: the Christian Century, L'Osservatore Romano, and Plough. A screening of the film at the Aula Paulina of the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome, a first return to Rome. As we look back at these moments, we're getting ready for more "good news" for our documentary film this year. Stay tuned...
